For over 30 years, Harrison, Eichenberg and Murphy LLP, has been a premier defense firm representing major employers and insurance clients in litigated workers’ compensation matters throughout California. We accept the challenge of providing creative, personalized service and aggressive legal strategies to minimize our clients’ costs, irrespective of the complexity or magnitude of the claim.
We work in tandem with our clients to develop the best litigation strategy to bring a claim to a quick and successful conclusion.
Our philosophy applies to claims whether the value is a few thousand or millions of dollars. It is our experience that the quick resolution of disputed issues is in the best interests of our clients.
Recognizing that a good defense sometimes starts even before an injury, we have also partnered with numerous employers to assist in the development of best practices to avoid employee injuries and how to contain costs before a claim becomes litigated.
We work in tandem with our clients to develop the best litigation strategy to bring a claim to a quick and successful conclusion. We believe that regular communication is one of the keys to successful claims handling. Using various forms of technology, we have developed ways for our clients to get in touch with our attorneys and support staff at any time. We make it our policy to timely respond to all communication.
All our attorneys have considerable experience in the defense of workers’ compensation claims, and have excellent rapport with applicants’ attorneys, WCAB Judges and staff. These relationships further assist in the timely resolution of claims.

David H. Imoto
Partner
David Imoto is a Partner and manager of the Orange County and Northern California offices. David graduated magna cum laude from Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. He received his Juris Doctor with Scholastic Merit from Western State University, College of Law in Fullerton, California. He returned to Western State as an Adjunct Professor teaching courses in Oral Advocacy and Academic Probation.
David joined Harrison, Eichenberg & Murphy as an associate attorney in March 2003. Prior to this, he also worked in the Orange County Department of Child Support Services and the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
Outside of the office, he enjoys traveling, cooking, and running.

Jayme R. Kramer
Partner
Jayme Kramer is a Partner and manager of the Los Angeles/Ventura County office. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Northridge in 2001, and her Juris Doctor from Southwestern University School of Law in 2004. While in law school, she was a member of the Southwestern Journal of Law and Trade in the Americas in 2003 and 2004.
Jayme joined Harrison, Eichenberg & Murphy in 2005 as an Associate Attorney, bringing her prior litigation experience to the firm. Since then, she has worked with some of the state’s largest employers and insurance companies to aggressively litigate complex workers’ compensation cases to successful resolution. In 2011, she became a partner in our Los Angeles/Ventura County office.
In her spare time she likes to read, cook, and spend time with family and friends.

Marlin D. Wall
Partner
Marlin Wall is a Partner in the Los Angeles/Ventura County office. Marlin received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and his Juris Doctor, with honors, from McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California.
Marlin began his law practice as a civil litigator in insurance defense. He conducted numerous jury trials and over 200 arbitrations. He has also served as a mediator for cases filed with the Ventura County Superior Court, and spent 3 years in an appellate practice. In 2013, he brought that experience to the defense of major employers and insurance companies.
In his spare time, Marlin enjoys traveling, hiking, reading and kayaking.

Nicole D. Locascio
Partner
Nicole Locascio is a Partner in the Los Angeles/Ventura County office. Nicole graduated Cum Laude from UCLA with a Bachelor of Arts degree and subsequently received her Juris Doctor degree from Southwestern University School of Law. During law school, Nicole interned with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office and the Disability Rights Legal Center. Prior to joining our firm, she was an associate attorney at a firm defending carriers and self-insured employers in workers’ compensation cases. She brought that experience to Harrison, Eichenberg & Murphy, and continues to successfully litigate workers’ compensation claims on behalf of our clients.
In her spare time, she enjoys estate sales, design, architecture from the 20s and 60s and all things vintage. She also enjoys spin classes and running.

Anjoli C. Colar
Partner
Anjoli Colar is a Partner in the Los Angeles/Ventura County office. Anjoli received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the UCLA in 2004 and her Juris Doctor from Pepperdine University School of Law in 2008.
Anjoli was a Staff member and published student writer for the Journal of the National Association of Administrative Law Judiciary between 2006-2008 and a semifinalist in the Vincent S. Dalsimer Moot Court Competition, Regional Winner for Best Brief, as well, as a Nation Quarterfinalist in the Frederick Douglass Moot Court Competition.
In her spare time she likes to travel, read, write, sing, play the piano and practice photography. She is an active member in her church community. She also keeps both sides of her brain sharp by tutoring junior high, high school and college students in math, science and standardized testing.

Verenice V. Robertson
Partner
Verenice Robertson is a Partner in the Los Angeles/Ventura County office. Verenice graduated from California State University, Northridge with a Bachelor’s Degree is Business Administration/Business Law in 2004. Verenice received her Juris Doctor from Southwestern Law School in 2011.
Before her career in law, Verenice worked in the aerospace and defense industry for eight years. Prior to joining Harrison, Eichenberg and Murphy in 2015, Verenice worked as both in-house counsel for a major workers’ compensation insurance carrier and as outside counsel at other prominent workers’ compensation defense firms.
While with the firm, Verenice has gained years of experience and has represented a number of clients including various carriers, public entities and self-insured employers.
In her spare time, Verenice loves spending time with her husband and three sons. She enjoys watching her two oldest boys play baseball. She also enjoys DIY projects, interior design shows, and crafting.

Deborah L. Gilman
Associate Attorney
Deborah Gilman is a Senior Associate Attorney in the Orange County office. Deborah graduated from California State University, Northridge with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science in 1980. She then graduated from Pepperdine School of Law and was admitted to the California State Bar in 1983.
Initially she worked as an Associate for a product liability defense firm she had clerked for throughout law school. In 1984, Deborah joined a private defense firm in Thousand Oaks where she received her first experience with the California workers’ compensation system. She relocated to Orange County in 1989, and in 2000, she joined Harrison, Eichenberg & Murphy. Deborah continues to represent employers and insurance companies in the workers’ compensation system.
Deborah also holds a teaching credential in early education. She has been married for over 40 years and has two children, and a beautiful grandson. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, and traveling.

AUSTIN G. FUNK
Associate Attorney
Austin Funk is an Associate Attorney in the Orange County office. Austin received his Juris Doctor from Tulane University Law School in 2019. He completed his Bachelor of Science from Indiana University in 2013. While in law school, Austin was awarded the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Professional Responsibility, as well as, Foreign Affairs and National Security.
Prior to joining Harrison, Eichenberg & Murphy, Austin worked as a probate litigator serving the greater Los Angeles area. During this time, he represented beneficiaries and trustees to resolve complex trust and probate issues.
Austin holds a teaching credential in Secondary Education and previously taught ESL in South Korea. Austin and his wife stay busy with their two young boys, and a rambunctious pug. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, travel, and tinkering with computers.

Jennifer L. Wong
Associate Attorney
Jennifer Wong is an Associate Attorney in the Los Angeles/Ventura County office. She graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor’s degree in Physiological Science. She then completed her Master of Science in Physical Therapy at Washington University in St. Louis. She practiced physical therapy for sixteen years before leaving clinical practice to attend law school at UC Irvine. While at UC Irvine, Jennifer was a member of the UC Irvine Law Review and held several peer mentoring and teaching assistant positions.
Outside of the office, she enjoys culinary science, baking, and making ice cream.

Anastasia Goncharko
Associate Attorney
Anastasia Goncharko is an Associate Attorney in the Orange County office. She received her Juris Doctor from Whittier Law School in 2012. Prior to law school, she attended University of California, Santa Cruz where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.
After graduating from law school, she practiced Dependency Law, Criminal Law, and Business Law, before finding her home at Harrison, Eichenberg & Murphy.
Outside of the office, her time is spent supporting her teenage son’s rally racing career goals. She also enjoys outdoor adventures, such as mountain biking, climbing, snow sports, hiking, and backpacking.

Danielle C. Pauljohn
Associate Attorney
Danielle Pauljohn is a Senior Associate Attorney in the Los Angeles/Ventura County office. Danielle graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a Bachelor’s Degree is Sociology in 2005. Prior to law school, Danielle earned her paralegal certificate from UCLA. Danielle received her Juris Doctor from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in 2009.
Prior to joining Harrison, Eichenberg & Murphy, Danielle received extensive training and trial experience as a Reserve Deputy City Attorney for the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office, prosecuting misdemeanor and felony criminal offenses. After her time as a City Attorney, Danielle worked for various major insurance carriers as in-house counsel defending workers’ compensation claims.
In her spare time, Danielle loves hanging out with her two young sons. She also enjoys watching movies with her husband, going to brunch with friends, and traveling with family.

Janet M. MacNeil
Of Counsel
A military veteran, Janet MacNeil is a Senior Associate Attorney in the Los Angeles/Ventura County office. Janet attended University of Maryland in Kaiserlautern, West Germany while on active duty with the United States Army. She graduated from Western State University in 1988, Cum Laude with her Juris Doctorate in Law. She served as the Notes and Comments Editor and Production Editor on the Law Review. She has practiced in criminal defense, civil defense, and has twenty years of experience in workers’ compensation defense.
Janet MacNeil has been with Harrison, Eichenberg, and Murphy since July 2007. Prior to that she was an Assistant Managing Attorney for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, and a managing Attorney for Wausau & Nationwide Insurance.
In her spare time Janet is a volunteer with Kitty Hawk Squadron III, an Explorer Scout flying program at Whiteman Airport. She is a member of the 99′s (women pilots), Whiteman Airport Association, and Best Friends Society, an animal rescue organization. She also enjoys tending to her rose garden.
